Customs
Deferred Payment
This scheme allows importers to defer the payment of Customs charges
(Duty and GST) for up to seven weeks, with a minimum period of three
weeks. All charges accounted for on a Customs standard import entry can
be deferred. For clients who are not on the deferred payment scheme,
Customs charges must be paid in cash (which includes cheques, but not
credit cards or EFTPOS).
New clients or clients with an adverse
payment history may be required to pay in cash, or with a bank cheque.
